Web-Based Lineup Entry Tour |
|
gfrCup will definitely make your life
as Commissioner easier than it's ever been before with the Web-Based Lineup Entry feature!
Before each race, you can visit the Reports screen within gfrCup to create web pages
based on the rules of your league. Once you post the pages to your
website, team owners in your league will be able to log in with a password and
submit their lineups via a webpage form. Guidelines for your league such as salary
caps and entry deadlines are enforced (the entry deadline is checked against the
gfrCup server to make sure that there's no funny business!).
Please keep in mind -- We do not host your league on our servers. You upload the
pages that gfrCup generates to your own website. Also, the lineup entry pages feature
is primarily designed for leagues that have grown to the point where manual entry of lineups
takes a significant amount of time. As such, leagues that take advantage of this feature
should use the 'Allow multiple teams to select the same driver' option. An entirely new
lineup will be submitted by each team for each race (unless they let the previous lineup ride).
Therefore, gfrCup will not track the number of transactions each team makes when the lineup
entry feature is used.
How It Works -- Once a lineup is submitted, an email is sent to
the team owner(s) and to the Commissioner. An attachment with a '.lineup' extension
is sent along with the email that contains the team's
lineup information. The Commissioner saves the attachment into the Lineups folder,
which appears under the gfrCup directory on their computer. It's easiest to
create a desktop shortcut to the Lineups
folder. Then, the Commissioner can simply drag and drop the attachment from the emails
into the folder.
You can import the lineups for your league directly from our server. This
eliminates the step of detaching the lineup files from emails. The emails are still sent,
but can be used simply for confirmation that the lineup was successfully submitted.
Then, with the press of the Import Lineups
button within the gfrCup application, all of the lineups are imported into the league.
The Commissioner can even set how teams with payrolls over the cap are handled (For
example -- Drop the lowest salary driver. If the team is still over the cap, drop the next
lowest salary driver and so on until the team is at or below the cap.)
Teams even have the ability to change their password or email address(es) before
submitting the lineup -- or they can type a message to the Commissioner that is displayed
when the lineups are imported. If a team submits multiple lineups, the last lineup to be
submitted is always used.
Customize The Look of the Lineup Entry Pages -- We know what you're thinking. You've
already created your website and you don't want lineup entry pages that don't match the look
and feel that you've already created. We've got you covered here too! You enter the HTML code
that you want to appear above the lineup entry forms -- as well as the HTML code that will appear
below the forms -- and gfrCup creates pages that match your existing site (see the screenshot below).
You can specify fonts and colors for the pages to really tweak they're appearance. These settings
also carry over to gfrCup's HTML reports, so all of the pages on your site will match.
We used this feature to match the lineup entry sample pages at the 'CLICK HERE' links above with
rest of the gfrCup website.
The screenshot below displays the HTML tab within gfrCup's Report screen. This is where you
specify settings for your lineup entry pages such as the entry deadline, HTML header/footer, fonts,
colors, etc. Click on the screenshot to get a better view.
