Q.
I'm new to this Fantasy Racing stuff and need some help setting
up my league. Where can I get more info about the application?
A.
We've made the Users Manual available on our website. To view it, click on
gfrCup. The manual provides
more detail about the application, including a section that offers suggestions
for setting up your league. Note: The Users Manual is included when
you download the Demo.
Q.
Does the price include all of the downloadable results files?
A. Yes. When you purchase the
full license for gfrCup,
you also get the downloadable Results Files for the entire season.
Q.
The installation does not complete successfully. What should I do?
A.
First, make sure that you have selected Save File to Disk at the
download prompt. Also, it's possible that another EXE file is being called by the
installation program. Clear all of the files in the Temp folder or place the download
in a folder by itself prior to starting the installation. Lastly, you can try using the
alternate download file, which is packaged using the MSI format and should remedy most
installation issues. There is a link to the MSI file on the Demo page -- right below
the spinning car.
Q.
Even though I've established a connection to the Internet,
the program displays an error message stating that it could not make a
connection. How do I import the Results Files and Roster Update Files?
A. We have had a few reports
of this problem. At this point it seems to be primarily among users of newer
versions of AOL software. We have not yet been able to determine why the AOL
software inhibits the program's ability to recognize the connection.
Visit the appropriate
gfrCup
Results page to manually download the file. Follow the instructions
for downloading and importing the file. Make sure that the settings on your
computer are NOT set to 'auto-unzip' files with a .ZIP extension.
Q.
I have the 'Adjust Salaries' box checked, but the salaries are
not changing. Why?
A.
Driver salaries will not be adjusted until after
the 3rd race (The only exception applies to a driver that fails to qualify
for a race. A driver that fails to qualify will automatically have $1
subtracted from his salary for the next race, even if it is prior to the 3rd
race). In general, we believe that it is not appropriate to adjust salaries
based on only 1 or 2 races. Once you import the Official Results File for the
3rd race and carry your lineups forward, Race #4 reports will display adjusted
salaries. After that, salaries will be reviewed and adjusted after every
race. Keep in mind, salaries will not be adjusted more than $1 up or down
per race. Also, salaries are adjusted based on a driver's (or car's)
performance over all previous races. Therefore, it is possible for a
driver's salary to actually go down after having an excellent race.
Likewise, a driver's salary could increase after having a terrible race
because the salaries are based on average points per
race.
Q.
Can GFR manage a fantasy Busch or other fantasy racing league?
A.
No -- We do not offer GFR for other race series.
Q.
I think that I've found a bug. What do I do?
A.
First, visit the Patches & Support
page for the most recent patch and the bugs that it fixes. If the patch doesn't
fix your problem, contact us at
support@greenflagracing.com.
Q.
How do I check to see which version that I'm using?
A.
Run the program and select About from the
Help pull-down on the Main Menu screen.
The version will be displayed as something like 2004.1.1
(2004 Edition, Version 1.1).
Q.
When are the results files for each race available?
A.
We typically post the unofficial Results Files within a few
hours after the completion of the race. The official
Results Files are posted once the finishing order and points are deemed official
by NASCAR (typically NLT Monday evening).
